Recommendations for Recipes That Can Be Prepared with Tahini

There are many types of dishes that can be prepared with tahini. Tahini can be consumed separately for breakfast, as well as with other products. In addition to eating tahini with honey and molasses, when you combine it with different dishes, you see that the taste of your dishes improves. Tahini muffins, tahini flour cookies, tahini cake, donut with tahini, eggplant paste with tahini, dry baklava with tahini, tahini halva, tahini tarator, tahini lavash, tahini pie, tahini cookies, tahini custard, tahini souffle, tahini katmer or crispy rolls with tahini are among the tahini dishes. For example, if you are cooking hummus, you can also add a small amount of tahini to it. Apart from this, tahini is also frequently used in pastry. In addition, it must be remembered that tahini is also used as an alternative to sugar.

 

When preparing a food, first of all, the oven should be preheated to 200 degrees. First you thoroughly peel the cauliflower, and then boil lightly it. Here you enhance the taste with salt and cumin, which you add to boiled water. Cauliflower should not soften too much and keep a little freshness. In the next step, you add 2 crushed garlic cloves, 1 teaspoon turmeric, 1 teaspoon cumin, 2 teaspoons salt and 3 tablespoons olive oil to half a cup of tahini and mix. Finally, you add medium-sized cauliflower to the mixture and put the dish in the oven. The cooking time depends on the oven, but on average it takes 1 hour and 15 minutes to cook. 

 

Eggplant salad with tahini is another dish that can be prepared with tahini. The first step is to fry 4 medium-sized eggplants on the stove or in the oven and check if they are soft with a fork. First, you roast 4 medium-sized eggplants on the January stove or in the oven and check whether they are tender with the help of a fork. If you have no difficulty dipping the fork, then the eggplants are ready. Then you peel them and soak them in lemon water so that they do not darken. Next step: Whisk 1 teacup of tahini, 1 teacup of water, juice of 2 lemons, 2 cloves of crushed garlic, chili flakes, chopped parsley and salt. After that, you first slice the eggplants into the finished sauce and mix them with a fork until they are thoroughly crushed and mashed into a puree. You can take a serving dish and pour olive oil over it. Combine with red pepper and serve to the table. 


  
When another tahini recipe is mentioned, tahini piyaz comes to mind. You start by cooking the beans that you soaked the day before. If you have soaked the beans in cold water, cold water should be used during cooking. After cooking the beans in a pressure cooker for about 10 minutes, you take 3 spoons of boiled beans for the tarator sauce and crush them with a fork. If you do this, you will get an emulsified sauce.  In what follows, you pass the tahini, lemon juice, vinegar, spices and grated garlic through a food processor. It should be a little more liquid than the consistency of the boza, so add water from the boiled beans. After that, mix the sauce and baked beans well. You cut onions, tomatoes into cubes and add them to a bowl. For garnish, you can also use coarsely chopped hard-boiled eggs and large parsley greens.

 

As we mentioned above, tahini is something more than a food consumed only in the form of sauce. A healing spring, tahini, the taste of which is obtained by keeping sesame seeds in salt water and separating them from the shell, appears as a food very rich in useful fats.  Since it is useful, in Turkish cuisine it is mainly used in desserts, cookies or buns, and in Middle Eastern cuisine it is abundantly added to dishes, snacks and salads. Tahini as a sauce on its own, tahini as a sauce for red meat or salads, or tahini as an ingredient in any food, the way tahini is consumed in each culture may be different.
